2. Internet Hosting:
An internet host is a company that rents or sells space on their
web servers, and uses the internet connections to these web servers
to connect their clients' sites to the Internet. There are thousands
of different Internet hosts available offering thousands of different
hosting plans. The cost for a hosting account ranges from free to
several hundred thousand dollars a month. As a small business, your
primary factor in determining which Internet host you'll use is
probably cost, but it is important to keep in mind the services
that the host is offering (Internet services are discussed on the
next page). Essentially, you'll be renting a certain amount of space
on a hosting company's servers which will hold your web site, and
you'll be renting that hosting company's Internet connection to
serve your site.
